New Study: Detox With Broccoli Sprouts
A new study from researchers at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has shed light on the potent ability of broccoli sprouts to help detoxify the body of dangerous manmade pollutants. Specifically, the clinical trial involved nearly 300 men and women in a heavily polluted area who were given a broccoli sprout beverage in order to boost their levels of sulforaphane, a plant-compound that has been shown to have tremendous preventive properties in other studies. The participants displayed "rapid, significant and sustained higher levels of excretion of benzene, a known human carcinogen, and acrolein, a lung irritant." To read the full article, please go here.
