My favorite guilty pleasure is pizza!

How do you like to start each day?

I like to start my day early. I wake up around 6-7 in the morning and make a banana, spinach, honey and almond smoothie with my Epic Chocolate Maca powder, followed by a nice stretch and personal training with nakoa fitness.

How do you like to end each day?

I like to end the day with watching a sunset from the ocean while I’m surfing.

Tell us a bit more about how you got into surfing.

Surfing has been in my family for generations. Also, when you’re born and raised in Hawaii, at some point, an older family member will throw you into the ocean, and from there, you learn the fundamentals of mostly every water sport.

How do you stay motivated? Any tips for our readers?

For me, motivation stems from the love I have for the ocean, surfing and living a healthy lifestyle. My advice is to always have passion and love for something that makes you feel healthy and positive about yourself.

What’s next for you and your career?

To keep up on traveling, to different places of the world. My focus is finding amazing waves and enjoying the love I have for competitive surfing.

Why do you consider protein to be an important part of your diet?

Protein is what keeps your body strong as an athlete. Being a professional surfer, dealing with Mother Nature and the ocean, my body needs a lot of protein and endurance. The waves can get pretty intense and you always want to have your body in a strong state.
