Earth Day Protein Matcha
Celebrate Earth Day with a layered matcha that’s as vibrant as it is nourishing. This protein-packed blend combines Epic Protein Mindful Matcha with real matcha, naturally sweet honey, and creamy coconut for a smooth, energizing sip—no weird stuff. Finished with a dreamy butterfly pea tea layer, it’s a feel-good drink made with ingredients that love you (and the planet) back.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tsp Epic Protein Mindful Matcha
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 bags of butterfly pea powder tea
- 1 can full-fat coconut milk
- Milk of choice
DIRECTIONS
- Steep the butterfly pea tea bags in 1 cup of hot water for 5–7 minutes. Remove the tea bags and transfer the tea to the refrigerator to chill completely.
- Meanwhile, prepare the matcha. Sift the Epic Protein Mindful Matcha and matcha powder through a fine mesh sieve into a small bowl. Add ¼ cup hot water and whisk using a bamboo whisk until smooth and frothy.
- Add the honey and whisk again to combine. Set aside.
- Open the can of coconut milk without shaking it. Scoop out about ¾ cup of the thick coconut cream from the top and transfer it to a small zip-top bag. Snip a small corner off the bag and pipe the coconut cream along the inside of a chilled glass to create a “cloud” effect.
- Place the glass in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.
- Add the remaining coconut cream and about ½ cup of the coconut milk liquid to a blender. Blend until smooth and pour into the prepared glass.
- Gently pour in the matcha mixture and stir lightly to combine with the coconut layer.
- Top with your milk of choice, then slowly pour the chilled butterfly pea tea over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.
- Stir before drinking and enjoy!
