What is Tremella?

Tremella, aka "snow mushroom," is a soft, jelly-like, thin and ruffled mushroom. It is white to pale yellow in color and has a gelatinous texture that is semi-translucent. It is small to medium in size, ranging from 5-7 centimeters in diameter and grows in tropical climates on damp, dead or dying hardwood trees. It has been used for centuries in China for their medicinal properties.
